About the tour

On this tour, we’ll guide you through and explore Helgafell Mountain, a landmark of the Icelandic sagas and the final resting place of Guðrún Ósvífursdóttir. We will walk up the mountain and up to the chapel where you will hear the story of Helgafell and its spiritual connections.

We will also tour the church which houses one of the oldest church bells in Iceland.

From Helgafell, take in the panoramic views of the Westfjords, along with the unique high-altitude vantage point over Stykkishólmur, its surrounding islands, and the encircling mountains. Whether you're drawn by history or scenery, Helgafell offers an unforgettable experience.
