"Hi, I’m Jóhanna, and I’ve had the privilege of calling Helgafell home for my entire life. My family has lived here since 1888, and over the years, we’ve welcomed countless visitors to the sacred mountain. In 2017, we decided to create a reception area for our guests and built a new hiking trail to better handle the growing number of visitors. The old trail had become quite muddy and difficult to navigate, so we wanted to ensure that everyone could enjoy the beauty of Helgafell without damaging the land."
